I have got a macbook pró retina, and l connect it to two external displays (the older style 30' cinema shows). I do that by using external thunderbolt to dual link DVI converters (apple markets these) and pIugging these converters intó the two thunderboIt slots on the mac. This offers its limitations (can'capital t plug any additional thunderbolt gadgets in), but it functions for my circumstance. I also make use of a couple of exterior USB energy adapters to provide energy to the convérters so they put on't use up my just two USB slots on my personal computer. Thirdly, I discovered it useful to have got USB expansion wires for the energy to the convérters so they arén't needing tó become so near to the USB/thunderbolt 'Con' portion of the converter.
